Tarantula Eggs in Bananas.
An Essex couple were shocked to find a batch of tarantula eggs attached to their Asda bananas.
Sara and Marc Woodcock bought the contaminated fruit from an Asda supermarket in Shoebury, Essex. When the couple unpacked their weekend shopping they discovered a strange lump on one of their bananas.
"It was a very small sack and when I stabbed it inside were hundreds of tiny eggs. It's disgusting." said Mr Woodcock.
"I was a bit concerned about it because we have a 14-month old son." he continued.
Mr and Mrs Woodcock called the supermarket where they purchased the bizarre fruit but it was closed, so they placed the banana in a plastic container and the following day took it to the Dwarf wildlife sanctuary, in Great Wakering.
Iain Newby from the sanctuary believes the eggs are from an orange baboon tarantula, a highly aggressive species of spider native to Africa and commonly known as "Orange Demon Spiders".
Newby intends to keep the eggs and try to hatch and rear the spiders.
