Big animals to go from Cricket St Thomas

Big animals to go from Cricket St Thomas
By Alex Cameron

CRICKET St Thomas Wildlife Park, near Chard, is to lose its large animals and shed jobs.
Falling visitor numbers mean owners Warner Leisure Hotels will be turning enclosures for the larger animals into gardens over the winter.
Bigger animals like camels and leopards are set to go, as are a number of jobs.
The park is set to close for the winter on October 30 and reopen six months later as Cricket St Thomas Gardens and Wildlife Park.
Some smaller animals will be retained.
The search has now begun for homes for the larger animals.
