Reported to BCIB Katy Jordan in September 2007
We do not know when the sighting occurred but it is safe to assume that it was several years ago.
I just got this direct
from Colin Routley of Adelaide, who is visiting the UK, and it has
such typical topographical features (railway, culvert) that I thought
I'd pass it on for interest.
Colin lived on a farm in the mid-north area of South Australia, south
of Port Pirie. He was riding his bike near a railway cutting late one
afternoon, when he saw a 'big black cat' looking at him. It then
turned away, and disappeared into a culvert.
He says the size was that of an Australian Kelpie dog, that is a bit
smaller than a Labrador. It had a long tail.
Even at 10 years old he was afraid nobody would believe him, and he
never told anyone about it until much later in life. It wasn't until
he heard someone else talking about seeing a big black cat in the area
that he felt reassured that he was not seeing things.
